I am qualified and appointed as an examiner of ski
instructors in the U.K. and the U.S.A and as a coach
in the U.K, and Canada and hold the highest level of
internationally recognised ski teaching and coaching
qualifications issued by a number of bodies worldwide.
It goes without saying that I have taught skiing in
ski resorts ranging from Auffach to Zermatt.
I am a member of ASTM committee F27 and various technical
subcommittees in respect of skiing safety and ski bindings.
This committee and the organisation has a role in the
USA which is analogous to that of B.S. {British Standards}
or ISO and is responsible, for the drafting of standards
for the supply of ski bindings. I have also written
extensively on skiing and ski equipment over the last
15 years appearing in publications as diverse as The
Independent, Good Ski Guide and Saab Owners Magazine.
I am a former Director and Chairman of the English
Ski Council, the governing body for English Skiers.
I was also a member of the national source group responsible
for setting the standards for coaches and ski instructors
and led the development of the United Kingdom Snowsports
Coach Award Scheme.
I am regularly employed as a consultant by various organisations
including architects, retailers, ski centres and local
authorities to assist in their compliance with good
practice in the design and management of ski centres.
As a ski journalist I am employed to research developments
in ski equipment and I carry out this role for ski magazines
in the U.K. and the U.S.A. I am also employed as a consultant
